Why should I register my Russian visa?

According to the law every foreigner that stays in Russia more than 7 working days must be registered.

With the help of this process you inform our Migration Service about your arrival and approximate departure. So, they can make statistics on how many tourists enter Russia each year.

If you forgot to register or for some reason did not manage to do it, you will be liable to pay a fee to the policemen on the streets in case they stop you check for registration or to the customs personnel while leaving the country.

Please, do no forget to put your registration blank into your passport and carry with you during all the trip.

While going to another city in Russia you should be registered again if you stay there more than 3 working days.

IMPORTANT! According to paragraph of the Federal Law, 25.10.2004 N126-FL, from the Code of the Russian Federation about administrative infractions, a foreign citizen or stateless person who broke regulations of stay in Russia should be fined in the amount of up to €150 along with administrative deportation from Russia or without it.
